Our Mission

grp_HoldingLogo2The mission of the Centra Foundation is to develop resources to enhance and enrich the services, programs and facilities of Centra Lynchburg General and Centra Virginia Baptist Hospitals in order to assist the Centra system in meeting and solving community health issues.

The major objectives of the Foundation are to:

  1. Sponsor Centra projects, programs and activities which address community health problems and issues.
  2. Develop resources to fund indigent patient care at Centra facilities.
  3. Assist Centra in providing the equipment and facilities necessary to assure excellent healthcare to its patients.
  4. Provide stipends and scholarships to needy and deserving students who wish to pursue health careers in Central Virginia.

The Centra Foundation is committed to serve as a good steward of the community's resources entrusted to it by utilizing, safeguarding and enhancing them through sound financial practices.
